The auction
Bid a level and denomination, or pass. The last bid before three passes becomes the contract.
The auction game
Contract Bridge with a real auction, a partner across the table, and thirteen tricks to play. Invite your friends, fill the seats with expert bots, and play in your browser.
Bridge begins with an auction, not a trick. Every bid describes something about your hand and asks something of your partner. Cards4Play gives you a complete table for the auction and the play, with bots that can hold up their side.
Bid a level and denomination, or pass. The last bid before three passes becomes the contract.
Four players, two partnerships, and a partner across the table. The declarer's partner plays the dummy.
Follow suit, draw trumps, and count winners. Every hand is a small planning problem.
Practice the auction and play with bots that understand Standard American bidding.

Bid to set the contract, make the opening lead, and play out all thirteen tricks.
Four players form two partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other. The full 52-card deck is dealt thirteen cards to each player. The dealer bids first, and the auction proceeds clockwise.
A bid names a level from one to seven and a denomination: Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts, Spades, or No Trump. A new bid must be higher than the previous one. Three passes end the auction, and the last player to bid becomes the declarer. The player to the declarer's left makes the opening lead, and the declarer's partner lays out the dummy.
Players must follow suit if they can. A trick is won by the highest trump, or by the highest card of the suit led when no trump is played. This version uses simpler scoring without vulnerability or doubled contracts.
